A Home where God resides is a home filled with Peace, Love, Joy and continual growth. It is also the foundation to create a place filled with Love, Laughter, and Life. Yes, I said the common phrase that way, and many of you will know why, but for those that don't. One of the main reasons I found Guatemala outside of God's plan on my life was through a man who coined the phrase and used the words in order of importance. His name was Chris Currie, and I will forever carry that phrase with me and what better time to use it when I am entering into the place where it is most commonly found.
Now to start with love,
I was extremely fortunate to have my dad come along and transition me not only into Guatemala, but also see and begin the transition into my new home. Unfortunately, he didn't get to see or help with as much as we were both hoping but he got a first hand look and was supportive throughout it all, being sick and all.
I also felt extremely loved by my fellow missionaries with BMI, Nick and Izzi Frey, when they offered me their handmade table and chair set first before attempting to sell it. I was blessed with an amazing deal and it has served me well, not to mention the color goes great in the house!
Here comes the laughter in regards to the house! I'll start off with the item in the house that caused me the most laughter, the STOVE! Who knew stoves were such a pain? Well, I bought the stove pretty early on in the move, because we have to eat, right?! When I unboxed it and put it in it's place it didn't work! The lights would turn on, but nothing would heat up. I decided to do my notorious online investigating and came to two conclusions, either the heating elements for the whole stove were ruined, or the wall was not produced 220V. I borrowed a multimeter and tested the connections. I was getting 220V, or so I thought. So, naturally, I called someone to come take a look at the stove since I had just bought it and it was never used. They came and told me that the wall wasn't receiving 220V. Well after it was all said and done, it was the easiest fix of a breaker switch and everything was working perfectly! All I could do was laugh and enjoy the learning experience and know that I can do it myself now!

I also learned how to wire a 220V plug for my washer and had to deliver my fridge on its SIDE to get it home! By the Lord's grace, everything worked out and now I am comfortable and cozy in my new home!
Also, yes that large object leaning against the wall is a bed frame.. and no, it doesn't fit up the stairs. Don't worry, we tried! 😂
Proverbs 24:3-4 NIV
'By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.'
Every single one of the things that I have in the new house, that God has blessed me with, are beautiful treasures that we so often take for granted. I thank God for a wonderful Home that truly feels like Home.
John 14:1-2 NIV
'“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?'
God promises us a room in His glorious house in heaven, but he has also prepared for us our homes and futures here on Earth. This call on my life, as well as the work that is being done feels like a place prepared for me to glorify the Living God.
